TROMBONE

Like blowing a raspberry!

Trombone.png

WHAT IS A
TROMBONE?

The trombone is a shiny brass instrument which is often gold.

It's really long when the slide is extended making low sounds. The trombone has no keys or buttons at all, but rather a slide that moves in and out to change notes while using your breath and lips.

WHERE DOES IT
FIT IN THE BAND?

Trombones sit up the back of the band and play low notes with the other big instruments.

If you want to play one of the bigger instruments we offer, then the trombone is a great!

CAN I TRY IT
ON FOR SIZE?

Absolutely!

Book into an Instrument Demo session to try trombone with the guidance of an Upscale Teacher.

HOW DO I KNOW IF IT'S FOR ME?

You like the idea of playing a big instrument which makes a big sound. You need to buzz your lips while blowing air into the mouthpiece, like you're blowing a raspberry. To change notes you need long arms to reach out to all of the positions on the slide, so this is something that will make a good fit for tall people.

There is another instrument called a Euphonium, which we may suggest if your good at blowing the trombone, but haven't got long enough arms, yet!
