LESSONS AT OUR CORE
The group lesson environment is key to the success of our programs. Group lessons develop musical ability, encourages interaction with others, cooperative learning, problem solving strategies, resilience and confidence in playing in a group situation. Group lessons also enable us to use games and fun activities to reinforce learning and foster enjoyment in a student’s musical journey.
While students learn together and importantly can play songs together, we have a system of challenges so that students can progress at the speed that suits them. We use a variety of games, practice challenges, performance opportunities, written work, individual and team tasks to cater to students’ varying strengths and different learning styles. ​
Group lessons develop the ‘whole student’, not just their musical ability- but their confidence, their resilience and their ability to work with peers. It's a rich learning environment with the combination of peer learning and individualised instruction.
